In The Absorbent Mind, Dr. Montessori wrote,
important period of life is not the age of university
studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age
of six. For that is the time when man’s intelligence itself,
his greatest implement is being formed. But not only his
intelligence; the full totality of his psychic powers. At no
other ages has the child greater need of an intelligent
help, and any obstacle that impedes his creative work
will lessen the chance he has of achieving perfection.”
Our Primary program offers inherent flexibility through the Montessori approach which
allows it to be adapted to the needs of each individual child,
regardless of the level of ability, learning style or social maturity.

Our Elementary program offers a program for
children between the ages of six and twelve. Children at
this age are interested in society and they relate to it.
Experiences are provided that enable them to gain
access to that society, working through an integrated
program of cultural subjects: Botany-Zoology, History,
Geography, Arts, and Music. Each area of study provides
the keys to who we are, where we came from and why we

"Our Spanish Lessons for Children Present a Fun, Interactive Way for Kids to Learn the Basics of the Spanish Language."
This summer we will offer a 7-week Summer Program from June 5 th to July 21st. The program will offer a variety of fun and educational activities designed for children of 18 months to 6 years of age. There will be application fee of $100.00 for students not currently enrolled in Montessori School of Douglas County.
"Arts & Crafts" This session will offer a variety of art projects where the children can explore their creative minds.
"Cooking is Fun" We will focus on fitness & nutrition by teaching the children healthy habits. Grace & courtesy lessons.
"Reading is Fun" with story-telling time and we will explore the poetry of Robert Frost and other American literature classics.
"Science is Fun". Introduction to science featuring children's science experiments.
